TF_drawbag1967Prestons Lake at Pebmarsh, owned by Colchester APS, there’s Bream to 13lb in there and it’s a beautiful natural lake.

TF_D.W.Walthamstow Reservoir One is probably your best bet off top of my head

TF_Fred DavisThe bream went to 15lb 8oz however I would say walthamstow may not be worth a visit until march and thats providing the weather has been mild in february as once the place switches off due to cold weather it then need to warm up for a few weeks before the bream switch back on.The bream pegs at donnington on the river thames may be worth a go providing the snow melt and subsequent floods don’t bugger it up.However if you wait until april I would definately be tempted to give the lower maynard a go for the big bream, as number one has a close season on the ressy,
Nothing on file I am afraid carpetmuncher as when I have written the article once they are published are done and dusted, I did however save a few pictures and gave Alan Dove two disc’s of photographs featuring around 25 of the 30 plus double figure bream he caught on that fateful day. Just to remind the lads here are a couple

TF_Nigel.I have heared a lot about the big bream in Walthamstow Reservoir, (doubles) as the carpers are always moaning about them~think
Not great fun on a 3lb TC rod and 15lb line, but i bet they would be awesome to catch on a light feeder rod!~clap

TF_squattIreland?? I’ve been 25+ times in the past. In the past, we bagged, however it wouldn’t be my first choice for a 7+LBS fish. With the Euro it would also be an expensive fish aswell ~think

Daddy BParticipantHad a shedload of good fish to over 7lb from my trips over to Portumna in the good old days over 20 years ago now, when there wasn’t a Roach in the river.
If it’s proper slabs you want, The Stow is as good as anywhere. Following a bit of advice from Fred a few years ago I’ve had a load of fish there myself with a good percentage of doubles and still not had one under 8lb yet (weighed em all)! It’s very weather orientated though and you need to pick and choose your days. -
