Hi there – I’ve only been a few times, lovely little place, and that was a while back so forgive me if info out of date.

The lake they have the matches on is a snake style lake, with some pegs just 8-9 metres to island out to some wider bits – 13-16m. The main thing is, unless they have thinned out, is this place is absolutely rammed with silverfish, small ones (they might have grown a bit by now) and they ruin all soft baits. Therefore 6-8mm pellets are best for targeting the carp and chub.

I was never lucky enough to draw one of the good pegs but 100lb can be caught off them, either pole cupping or catapulting pellets to the far bank. It’s only shallow, and when it’s hot like this you’ll be looking for 2ft 6in or less water in to catch properly anyway (or fish shallow).

I’d check with the owner, if the small fish are still in, just take hard pellets or similar anti-small fish baits…
