ANGLER KILLED AT HAMPTON COURT(THAMES)?

I hope this is not true but there are stories flying around of an angler being stabbed on a peg at Hampton Court.We have read the newspapers and googled it but as of now cant get any information on this terrible news.
Apparently there was an argument over whos peg it was and a knife was used.After the recent spate of bad news from the banks of our rivers,this could be a real body blow to our sport.The rumours flying around are saying the police are going to stop angling on the Thames from Hampton Court to Richmond until their investigations are fully covered.
If anyone can verify this terrible news please confirm, 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Not heard any thing Mick,but it woulden’t suprise me in the least,you get some right odd sorts on the bank at Molesey,you and me accepted of course.Did hear of a 26lb carp caught just before the lock gates at Hampton Court,perhaps thats the swim they where fighting over.

This was reported to Keith on his Fisherman’s Blues show at the weekend. There were no details but the eye witness facts reported by a passer by were that the police had sealed off an area that included bivvies within it and it appeared that there had been an altercation of some sort. There was no indication whether it was between anglers or an angler and a third party. No information about a death though. Presumably this will become sub judice so we will have to be careful what is written on here.

I have seen anglers having a ‘punch up’ on the bank before over swims and their boundaries. I have also had the misfortune to sit on a club committee where one such incident was brought before it and it resulted in a couple of bans.
