29 from MFS/TF fished this match at Home Park, Windsor and it fished really well. There were 9 double figure bags of Dace/Roach and several good backing weights.

We should have had a liars prize as well. 😉

I think the Apollo lads edged it with a spectactular double.

John Taylor: “I’ve only got about 10lbs”
Stuart Sadd: “I’m useless at estimating but I’ve probably got 7-8lb”.

Many thanks to Rick and Steve and all who helped with the pegging and weigh in.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day , despite being restricted to pole only due to overhanging trees I was happy with my weight and especially those cracking dace…..

Great day out on a cracking venue – many thanks to all involved in organising it. This was my 1st match this year – 1st Thames trip – and 1st time on the pole this season, also my best-ever bag of quality dace, about 10lb, plus a couple of pounds of nice roach and a couple of perch – and only ONE bleak! And great to see a midweek turnout of 29 for a RIVER match – like I always say, I’d rather have a hard day on the Thames than 200lb of starving carp from a muddy puddle.
                      Roll on the next one!

bookie tipped back around 11lb to avoid embarrassing his close friends who caught nowt. top bloke could be sir bookie come christmas as maj was watching from her bedroom, and was mighty impressed according to royal sources. not that impressed with the geezeer on the scales though she thought he was a wrong un 😀

 😎 😎 😎 Herbie……I really love you so much. But i didnt put back 11lb…….It was more like 3lb,with a Catty in the net too.
BUT YOU ARE SO RIGHT AS PER USUAL…..I didnt want to upset Jimmy Archer or Brian Green(the wonkerscramp).I had a £5 with Jimmy, who was on the next peg to moi,,,,But he was crying all day.
You fished like a star mate from the “Seaside peg”……I dont think even i would have had 12lb from such an uncomfortable peg…lol. :p :p :p

Well done mate…..Double or nothing next time.

                                  and some!…

One point though, most of the weights came off the ‘beaches’, jwb’s was some weight for someone limited to the pole (and there were others). For the next one though can we leave out the parrot cages or have someone (me? 😉 ) have a walk down with a long handled saw? Would some ‘trimming’ be allowed Steve?

Also, was anyone else questioned about why the match wasn’t ‘on the board’ by the pompous twit? He asked me if it was an Old Windsor match but it was too good an opportunity to miss so I told him we were the DLA Angling Society. Expect an expose in the Mail soon……

Roy, Hopefully there will be no parrot cages to leave out as Ricky and I [everone welcome!] intend to have a session down there sometime next week to deal with any issues.

Did said pompous twit identify himself as the match was OK’d by the committee and notification given. I will put signs up prior to the next one taking place.
