I’ve fished it quite a bit over the years and work about 1/2 a mile from it. If go as far as to say its not a pole venue, so you can leave your flat floats at home. It’s great for bolo’s and sticks so bring plenty of rods. Give me a call tomorrow for more info if you want. I’ll pm you my number. Rich

My favourite venue for many years with a massive head of dace and roach plus bream and chub, even silver bream and bleak sometimes. Recently seems to only fish when perfect ie some colour, fining down and mild, and even then seems to lack the head of fish it had previously with recent matches mainly little dace of 0.5oz with few roach. Still bream down there and odd chub (my best down there is 6-04), especially above Iford. Depth from less than a foot at low tide between the bridges (had it like this one day with max depth all day of 10″ to win with 15lb of dace and small chub) to the odd deep bit with tidal effects of up to about 4ft. Unlike Chavey (a team mate of old) I’ve won down there on the pole (17lb of bleak and 34lb of tiny dace) as well as on waggler, Topper and stick. Certainly varied in the pegs and you can never be sure which peg will produce. Gravels on the Pony Fields good lately.
