woodhousethere are a couple of sections of canal near Wolves that never freeze due to warm water coming in from a sewage works, they fish very well unless the cormorants turn up.

TF_Kevin WThere were some clear areas at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough, yesterday. I would say around 2/3rds of it was frozen though. Decoy was totally frozen apart from six swims – that’s eight miles from P’boro. I’d love to know which lakes around P’boro aren’t frozen.

The waters around Peterborough are most definitely frozen Nigel. On sunday morning my car was telling me it was minus 9 just outside Peterborough in the fens, 99% of all the drains were frozen up, only near the lock gates on the old river nene was ice free due to the flow, but that might of changed by now.
