Result of Redditch Federation / AVVC Open contest on Arrow Valley Lake, Redditch
20.8.10, the third of a series of 5 Open matches being run over the summer.
Another good turnout of 40 anglers found the bream shoals more unco-operative than of late and for a change pole anglers were more prominent than usual.
However anglers fishing the “method” took the first four places.
Carl Barnfield (Swan Baits/ Cobra Feeders) took the honours for the second consecutive match with a 61lb 15oz bream bag from peg 69 , Carl had 24 bream to 3lb on bread hookbait for a clear win.
Experienced Redditch angler Jack Eades (Cobra Feeders) took second spot with a catch of 3 carp and bream to 4lb for a total of 44lb 8oz taken on meat cast tight to the island on peg 30.
Another Redditch angler Pete Millard (Studley Rd AC) took 3rd spot with 29lb 14oz ahead of Phil Bird (Quality Baits) with 25lb 12oz .
Fifth place was taken by Keith Woodhead (Lodge Park AC) with the best pole catch of the day with 24lb 3oz of small skimmer bream.
