Fishing the above venue next weekend on a club match, any info appreciated. I have looked at the results and it doesn’t look as though its got a huge head of fish.

I have fished it a few times and it can be patchy but don’t be fooled there are a lot of fish in it. My best is 90lb but realistically I’d be aiming for 40-50lb.

Simple approach seems to be the method to the far bank assuming you are on pegs 1-28ish and then pole at 5m and 13m and margins.

Carp and barbel will win it with average sizes around 3-4lb from memory and skimmers a good back up. Pellet, corn and meat are safe baits but have some maggot, if its hard its a saviour for barbel at times.

There are a few flyers on the sunken islands, have a look on google earth their obvious and on a sunny day they are black with fish!!

          Enjoy

Thanks Ian, I have been told we’ve got the low numbers, I may go tomorrow for a look. If fishing the method would you use groundbait or micro’s? and what hook bait.
            Cheers Paul

If your going tomorrow I’d try both, don’t think its overfishhed on Baden, so groundbait may work ok.

I’d start on corn and alternate with meat and pellet. I’ve caught well on all 3, think its more about getting them in your peg and they will have most things, need to clip up and get close to the far bank, its a good chuck in places 50+ turns
