The penultimate round of the Bag’em Matchbaits silver league for pairs was treated to bright sunshine an easterly breeze and the fish turning tail and sitting out at the back of the island at Doglane Fishery this week.

The winning pair this week were Jake King and Graham Cheney who gathered 6 section points and a combined weight of 15lb 13¼oz. Jake taking 9lb 11oz of orfe and skimmers from peg 24 and Graham weighing 6lb 2¼oz from peg 14. The consensus of opinion was that Graham had overfed topkits and these had spooked the fish as they circled the island!!

The Top Single weight came from peg 8 where Rich Wills discovered that the big Orfe had decided to follow the wind and settle in front of his peg.
Rich’s total weight of 15lb 8¾oz, worth 1 point, and partner Steve Martin’s
9 section points, and 2lb 8¼oz, put them in second place overall.

Third placed pairs were Roger Atkins (2points) at peg 6 with 8lb 2oz of perch and roach, and Clive Griffin (8points) at peg 31 with 3lb 3oz of roach.

The best Perch pool went to Roger Atkins with a Perch of 1lb 8oz from peg 6.

The Sixth and last round will be on SUNDAY April 15th and Draw will be at the Kings Head Napton. Final Payouts will be made at the Kings Head after the match and all those up for a prize MUST collect them on the day.
