After the huge success of Matches at Barston this year , and EVERYONES positive comments about Barston , I have been in talks with running some opens at Barston Next year running from April through to September.

We have now created a website for this event to keep you all updated. If your name is down on the main list or reserve list for any of these matches , we advise you to join so we can keep you updated with everything thats going on!!

The format as follows……

80 anglers.

5x opens , 1st Saturday of every month.

Saturday – April 2nd 2011
Saturday – May 7th 2011
Saturday – June 4th 2011
Saturday – July 2nd 2011
Saturday – August 6th 2011

Saturday – September 3rd 2011 ( FINAL ) !!!!!!!!

After talking with Nigel , and looking at the success of the UK champs with 80 anglers fishing , we are going to take it to 80…yes thats 80 anglers. this will still be sections of 5 ect…

The monies will be going something like this…

5 PRELIMINARY ROUNDS

80 ANGLERS @ £25 = £2000

PEG FEES @ £7.50 = £600
MONIES FOR FINAL @ £5 = £400
POOLS MONEY @ £12.50 = £1000

16 SECTIONS OF 5 @ £25 = £400

1st £300
2nd £180
3rd £120

FINAL

Based on 80 ANGLERS @ £25 = £2000
MONIES GENERATED FROM 5 PRELIMINARY ROUNDS = £2000

PEG FEES @ £7.50 = £600

POOLS MONEY = £3400

16 SECTIONS OF 5 @ £50 = £800

1st £1300
2nd £800
3rd £500

So to get through to the final , you have to win your section of 5 anglers.

After talks it has been decided the best way to to ensure we have as close to 80 anglers in the final is this…

The first round 16 section winners will go through. If in the second round an angler already qualified wins his section , the spare place in the final we be allocated to the highest weight second in section, from any section. We decided not to default the sections as it could be open to abuse if `mates` drew the same section and one had already qualified etc…

Hope this is clear enough for everyone. Any questions please ask.

There will be 4 sets of scales to weigh 4 sections of 5 anglers. The frist two anglers in the 4 sections of 20 anglers will complete the weigh in. You will pick these up when you have drawn your peg , and it will be written on your peg , that you are either sclaes or board man!

Each match will be a 9am draw and we will fish 11am – 4 pm.

If you are Interested in any of these dates please put your names below. I will cap it at 80 per round. and then it will go down on the reserve list. Please list which dates you would like to fish , by either putting your names down on here or you can phone me on 07932766515

NOW FOR THE GRUMPY MATCH ORGAINSERS PART!!!

I will ask that , if you are not going to fish any of the matches and your names down , you let me know 48hrs before the event so I can offer it to someone else on the resrve list.Anyone who does not let us know he is cancelling , and does not show , will lose his place to all the other matches. Sorry to be blunt , but I’m not prepared to let Nigel down on Pegs!!
All rules are to be fished to the Rules Of Barston Fishery , anyone to be found breaking those rules , will be asked to leave , and will not fish another one of these opens.

ALL monies paid are in I’m taking nothing out for myself , I just want to fish some good matches at Barston!!

One snag i just noticed. If there is no default sections… what happens if someone wins one twice? Sorry if ive missed something. Will the second in section qualify in this instance?

I had a chat with Nigel today about this and we both Agreed no default sections on this , you have to be a winner of a 5 peg section to qualify.

still getting people contact me for this , so going to take it and cap it at 70 anglers fishing. Any more will definatley go on the reserve list. If a Full 70 turn up to each match that means the payouts will be even more~clap ~clap ~clap

Your going to need a very long reserve list for each of these matches with 8 months to go before the 1st match, Lee.

You could ask for the pools money up front to pin anglers down to fishing these matches. However, im sure there will be loads of clashes with other events, holidays ect as dates are revealed for other events. A bit of a nightmare at the moment for you but im sure this will be a great event for all those who fish in it.

It does show that there is a big need for regular quality matches on a quality venue like Barston and with a well thought out pay structure. Personally, i cannot wait.

its got 124 pegs on the lake , but in past experiance , and on consistant good match results , 80 is about the limit. To keep anglers interested , you need to keep the weights at a decent level , and I dont think we need to be greedy on this. I cant beleave how well this series of matches has been taken on board , it looks like it going to be a winner!!~clap

Afternoon Lee, just got out of hospital sorry for the bad timing on my part!! 3 rounds and only made 1 so far…Grrr was looking forward to this match for a month since the last one! Evening Lee thanks for posting the result up mate.
Yes getting better now but sore,they injected adrenaline into my wound to stem the bleeding before they could stitch me.
The swelling has covered my right eye but lucky to still have sight in it! Gutted to have missed the match but luckily qualified on the one round I have fished and won’t be missing another!

Todays match was what you could call very patchy for most with some Blanking. The carp decided that with this warm weather they were not going to play ball with the anglers and have a play with each other. This seemed to knock the normal standards of fishing on the head for alot of the regulars to Barston but not Gaz (HONEST) wood who took full advantage on peg 64. Gaz fished the method infront of peg 69 where the angler did not turn upto his peg. This give Gaz a great oportunity and he amassed 116lb of F1’s skimmers and carp on the method.

Secound went to Tim Bull who also fished the Method on Peg 32 who weighed 98lb and then Jamie Jones on Peg 3 also on the Method weighed 94lb.

After the huge success of Matches at Barston this year , and EVERYONES positive comments about Barston , I have been in talks with running some opens at Barston Next year running from April through to September.

The format as follows……

80 anglers.

5x opens , 1st Saturday of every month.

Saturday – April 2nd 2011
Saturday – May 7th 2011
Saturday – June 4th 2011
Saturday – July 2nd 2011
Saturday – August 6th 2011

Saturday – September 3rd 2011 ( FINAL ) !!!!!!!!

After talking with Nigel , and looking at the success of the UK champs with 80 anglers fishing , we are going to take it to 80…yes thats 80 anglers. this will still be sections of 5 ect…

The monies will be going something like this…

5 PRELIMINARY ROUNDS

80 ANGLERS @ £25 = £2000

PEG FEES @ £7.50 = £600
MONIES FOR FINAL @ £5 = £400
POOLS MONEY @ £12.50 = £1000

16 SECTIONS OF 5 @ £25 = £400

1st £300
2nd £180
3rd £120

FINAL

Based on 80 ANGLERS @ £25 = £2000
MONIES GENERATED FROM 5 PRELIMINARY ROUNDS = £2000

PEG FEES @ £7.50 = £600

POOLS MONEY = £3400

16 SECTIONS OF 5 @ £50 = £800

1st £1300
2nd £800
3rd £500

So to get through to the final , you have to win your section of 5 anglers.

After talks it has been decided the best way to to ensure we have as close to 80 anglers in the final is this…

The first round 16 section winners will go through. If in the second round an angler already qualified wins his section , the spare place in the final we be allocated to the highest weight second in section, from any section. We decided not to default the sections as it could be open to abuse if `mates` drew the same section and one had already qualified etc…

Hope this is clear enough for everyone. Any questions please ask.

There will be 4 sets of scales to weigh 4 sections of 5 anglers. The frist two anglers in the 4 sections of 20 anglers will complete the weigh in. You will pick these up when you have drawn your peg , and it will be written on your peg , that you are either sclaes or board man!

Each match will be a 9am draw and we will fish 11am – 4 pm.

If you are Interested in any of these dates please put your names below. I will cap it at 80 per round. and then it will go down on the reserve list. Please list which dates you would like to fish , by either putting your names down on here or you can phone me on 07932766515

NOW FOR THE GRUMPY MATCH ORGAINSERS PART!!!

I will ask that , if you are not going to fish any of the matches and your names down , you let me know 48hrs before the event so I can offer it to someone else on the resrve list.Anyone who does not let us know he is cancelling , and does not show , will lose his place to all the other matches. Sorry to be blunt , but I’m not prepared to let Nigel down on Pegs!!
All rules are to be fished to the Rules Of Barston Fishery , anyone to be found breaking those rules , will be asked to leave , and will not fish another one of these opens.

ALL monies paid are in I’m taking nothing out for myself , I just want to fish some good matches at Barston!!

The list that has been put up on page 23 is a list we had to copy and find as Geeps lost most of this post when converting to the new site. There are 3 names that have now dissapeared from this list on page 23 to the the list on page 24 . The list on page 23 was put up by Pete just so I could use this to copy and paste it to page 1.

Ignore the list on page 23 and use the list on page 1 this is the list to go by. It will sort itself out with more drop outs your just going to have to work with me on this. No one has dropped down or moved on the resrve list. You are still inbetween the same names as you was before.

The list on page one is the list to go by. I will get pete to delate the list he copied for me on page 23. This has all been caused by when the site changed over. It will sort itself out.
