        I have Drennan 11′ – 6″ and a 10′-6″ bomb rods and they have served me really well for over 10 years.
        In the winter I often use a small/light feeder on the 11′-6″ model and use 3lb maxima reel line. I particularly like the 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz tip sections. I use them mainly for carp of pastie size, brown goldfish and roach.
        I am now considering replacing them and am interested in hearing if anyone can suggest any better options.

          I also used to own the 10’6″ bomb rod, but now have the Matchpro 10’/11′ combo quiver
          comes with 3 complete top sections, 1/2oz & 3/4oz glass & 1oz carbon

          beautiful rod and quite versatile

          Not a million miles away from the original IM8 bomb rod, but the lockdown handle is a big bonus for me personally

            Completely agree with Dave Pellet – tops excellent and is a specialised tool for delicate fishing and short distances. A beauty which doesn’t get enough use, like most decent rods since the pole is more effective more of the time.

                  I now understand the 10′-6″/11′-6″ Drennan Matchpro combo is no longer in production.
                  Does anyone know where I could get one? Cash awaiting!!

                        Thanks for the suggstion, Craig. Is it designed for carp/commercials or silvers/skimmers? I am looking for a rod suitable for 0.10 bottoms and 18/20 hooks.
                        Being in Australia it’s hard to buy without being able to see/waggle the rods and I find this forum incredibly helpful with this kind of help/info.
                        If anyone has a Drennan Matchpro 10′-6″/11′-6″ combo bomb rod they would be prepared to part with, I’d love to hear from them…… cash awaits.

                          Browning syntec 8ft commercial wand great bit of kit you have to pick one up to belive just how good they are.
                          Retail at about £65 but you should be able to pick one for about £50

                              Lee is spot on our Force Commercial 8ft Wands are awesome, bend right throughto the butt, we also do a Force Commercial 10ft Bomb Rod which is equally as good………………….Very underestimated
