What do you want to do in them?

Walk and sit at your peg?
Stand in the water at your peg?

If you are not going to be wading into water then my personal choice would be a decent pair of hiking/walking boots that are goretex lined and thermal soled with decent cleats, half size larger so that you can wear thermal socks in winter.

Most of the other boots will make your feet sweat and hold the moisture and make your feet and toes cold.

Skeetex boots are often raved about but I have found these to be murder to walk in especially on muddy ground.

I agree with the above, a decent pair of walking boots are the best option…I have a pair of brashers and there fantastic, light, comfortable and very warm

I use Scarpa M4 walking boots when the weather is poor – these are warm and waterproof but you do need to take care on wet wooden platforms that can get quite slippy and when the weather is warm I use a pair of Muck Boots Eden shoes (waterproof but breathable)that I also potter around in the garden in 🙂

skeetex for winter, never had any issues about walking in em.
alot depends on where you fish regular.like has been said a pair of walking boots will do for this time of year.
some commercials nowadays a pair of trainers will do.
