Just a good set of waterproofs and get on with it.

The Waterline Fibrelite as its name suggests is very light, but the centre bankstick that goes in the ground is very weak and hollow! It bent on the first time out on mine, had to buy a solid bankstick such as the octuplus one and throw the other away. Its a toss up between weight and strength you can’t have both it seems.
The heavier bollies I have like the preston flatback are better in the wind, but make your holdall weigh a ton.
Buy a heavy duty one and get down the gym.

Agree with Squatt and Nathan, Waterproofs and a bait brollie.

If you really do want a brolly, little tip to stop the spike bending is to get some dowel of a suitable size and knock it into the spike.

Knocking a dowl down the end does work and i have done that in the past.
As for these Fibre Light Brollies – I have a MkII and another brolly which is a blue totally waterproof jobby. I have weighed them both and they weigh the same! I got the MKII because someone had told me it was a light brolly – I disagree.
What i would say about the Fibre Light is that it is better in the wind with the open top panels, which the golf world have been using for a good many years, Whilst it’s grey light material lets through plenty of day light, so they are much brighter underneath than traditional green fabric brollies.

My rule with brollies and waders is buy the cheapest you can as whatever you buy won’t last long anyway.
