        Hello all,

I have a match in a couple of weeks here.

I think our club has both the marshes pools.

Anyone got any info/tactics to share I would be interested as am going in blind at the minute!!

        Cheers,

        Rammo

Pellet. Corn, meat for skimmer bream and tench to about 4lb.

Small carp either on paste or pellet.

Some swims on Marsh 1 (first one you come to) are 7ft ish at about 13 -14m.

You can catch close in if you haven’t been too noisy setting up and your group are not shouting to each other. The pools are fairly well mixed but some pegs near the car park area are flyers as are a couple near the high banking to the right of the pool as you look at it from the carpark.

Expect to average 40lb if your lot are any good with a winning weight maybe 50 to 70lb. Odd lumps but most bites will be small carp. Red meat worked for me last time as did paste. Corn will work as with all the other pools at Bishops the water is generally clear and the bottom has rocks dotted about.

Caster and maggot will catch you bits, there are some decent roach but not enough to win with. Tench and bream are the weight builders on pool 1 and the 2nd pool will most likely be won from the pegs backing on to the carpark with carp.

Cheers for the help Cut as always.

Should get plenty of bites by the sounds of it.

Will they come u in the water with a constant feed going in?

            All pole I assume?

Will depend on the day if the pressure is up and the sun is out then you might find they actually back off. I would hope for a warm day with a spot of ripple.

I think you might get roached out on a couple of pegs, you would be busy and so long as others are not catching you could frame.

Chopped worm and casters has been used alot recently. An expensive route for a club match. Fish to your strengths and keep an eye on others about you.

Mostly pole work, you can catch on the feeder/method but there’s only a few pegs that you would want/have to choose it over the pole.

You should have a good day.

Try talking to Andy Pell at Chiltern baits or call Shaun Smart at the fishery for the weeks best approach. Shaun fishes and won’t spin you a yarn.

I won one of my club matches on the first marsh pool you come to with 81lb.
Constantly feeding micro pellets fishing 6mm pellet got me the small carp on top kit plus number 4 section, but when i fed in caster with it, it seemed to draw the tench and bream in which got me the bulk of my weight.
