Fishing boddington soon, not been for a while, is it advisable to use a pole or are the fish too big? I seem to remember they used to put up a good scrap

On the pole 10lb plus loads of munters in there down the edge.

straight lead and 8mm or 10mm hard pellet on a hairrig, feeding 5 or 6 pellets all the time at 30/35yds,then change to pellet waggler later on,always works for me 🙂
