Well I see that browning have launched the distance force feeder range I personally can’t wait for these to hit the shops, shown in the new 2013 catalogue, the 12ft rrp is £90.95 whilst the 13ft is just under the ton and a 14ft version of the rod is also available, I for one can’t wait to see one, I need to buy one of these rods for next year as we have the civil service national at furzton, long chucks and spodding could well be the order of the day as well as a bit of practice 😉
Must ask if anyone knows this have these replaced the king feeder range?

          Hi Fred
Yes your right, the Distance Force Feeder range have replaced the King Feeder range. According to the Browning dealer website these are currently due in on 20th December but do quite often come in early. You’ve got my contact details so drop me an email if you’d like one ordered.

That is a very good question. They aren’t listed in the 2013 catalogue but I’m sure the D-Flex tips fit. Very disappointing really as those hollow tips for the King Feeder were spot on.

I don’t think they do, but not 100% on that. I will find out today as my mate has a load.

checked and they are small eyes.

Hi Fred, The most popular rod on furzton for the match boys and me is the garbolino 13 LD with the method tip on forget 1.5oz tips etc. 3oz fibre glass jobs are ideal if they suit your purchase. It will chuck the small spomb 70yrds plus and will deal with the tow and show bites clearly . The rod that’s won more money on furzton than most is an unnamed angling times buy with a change of eyes that cost £15….But that’s the guy that’s behind it.The method is most the most productive method and has been for a few years so it will pay you to get some small method feeders 40grms plus just remember no fixed rigs. It’s been a tough year for match weights on fuzton so you don’t always have to go really mad with a spod 4-10 chucks being the norm. The prevailing wind goes down the hotel/sluice. The opposite end of the lake is shallower. The flyers are on the ‘Point’ (about half way down the lake) next to the 1st car parks.
Good luck with your search for a new rod and enjoy furzton it can be a cracking venue along with all mk waters. We are spoilt for choice here.

Thanks for the info inky on furzton, it’s a match I will be really looking forward to, however I have to get through the london qualifier to be eligible to fish it, however either way I will be making several trips to practice the furzton method, I have an unused carp rod that I will use for spodding and have some of method feeders up to 60 grams bought for use on barston and other waters for the long chuck, however it’s time I treated myself to a rod purpose built for the job, just need to buy a long distance spod and a proper rod and I’m there lol

Im seriously interested in one of these rods, are they up to the abuse of constant big chucks?

If you want to practice the furzton method i suggest you get down to Marsworth reservoir near tring. Fish about half way along the canal side bank at about 60/70yrds out. I fished it last week and had 35 bream one day and 29 a few days later. The bream average 4-6 pounds. £6 a day plus £3 parking. Just don’t go on a flat calm day. White 10mm boilies/6mm krill pellets worked well. The gb feeder was a dead loss not a sniff on either day..bizarre
