kookieI would be most grateful for any opinions. I will shortly be deciding between these two poles and any thought would be greatly appreciated.
spare tops price?
is it possible on the tricast to get all the tops the same size without butchering them.
I know some have the tricast and your opinions after using them for sometime would help re pro and cons
ps i,m clumsy as well.

TF_sam the manmy son has the trilogy and I have had the chance to use it a few times. It feels better than the pro at 16mts
mark my son tried all the top poles before getting the trilogy. He loves it and thats the first pole he hasnt had a moan about.
It must be good -

TF_poleanglerKookie,
You are comparing the wrong poles here mate, are you sure its not the Z9 against a Trilogy as they are in the same league. The Z7.5 is a mid range pole the other 2 are flagship ones. If the choice is between the Z9 and Trilogy then that will be a difficult one and everyone will have varying opinions.

kookieit was that i believed the z7.5 was stronger but fro your reply i gather this is not the case i have put off buying a new pole for a few years
, my current one is over 10 years old and cost 1200, i will really notice the changes and improvements.
A lot of you handle quite a few poles and fish regulary hence why your input is important -

TF_gaz rthe trilogy is an exellent pole mate had it a while now carnt realy fault it, carnt comment on the browning poles never held one ,had a tourney for years and imo the tricast is better balanced and stronger

TF_paulDi’ve been told by those whos seen it that the z7.5 is just like a stronger Z9. its a bit heavier and not as stiff as the Z9 bot only really notiable at 16m. Topkits are pmks same as the 9 and are 80 quid or cheaper. I picked up a glossy browning pole catalog in the shop last week which has all the info but it doesnt seem to be on the zebco website. the 7.5 comes with lots more kit than the 9 and you can buy it at 14.5. Theres a test in this months match fishing.

adam1ParticipantBrowning now have a website seprate to the Zebco one.
http://browning-fishing.comAs for the Z 7.5 i havent personally used it although i have used the Z7 which it replaced.
As said its not quite as light or as stiff as the Z9 is but properbly is slightly stronger. (thats not saying the Z9 isnt strong, i use it for all my carp fishing, open water or snags) when i first got my Z7 i was genuinely suprised at how good it was considering it was a mid range pole. i ve Never actually seen the tri cast so couldnt possibly compare them but i would certainly advise you to take a look at the Z7.5 im sure you wont be dissapointed. it may also be wise to have a look at the Z9, as pointed out it is more comparedable to the tri cast with them both being top of the range poles and strength certainly won’t be a worry. -

TF_paulDthe browning pole catalogue ive got is on the website Adam1 has put on – its even got a picture of Adam1 in it ~clap
Anyone looking for info on the z9 should have a look. Don’t think I’d let my kids go near the bloke holding the goldfish on one of the front covers though ~sickhttp://browning-fishing.com/Catalogues.html
the Hybrid catalogues got some interesting stuff including some massive bait punches – my bits of pole section keep breaking. ive seen one of the Hybrid keepnets today and are going to buy a couple as they close down really small – half as thick as a normal net, is a nice idea

TF_spotter1707Kookie.
I can’t comment on the pole you are asking about, but i have a Neutron & an original XRS.
Spares are easy to get for both poles.(the XRS being 10 years old at least)
If you contact Vinny at Highfield or Steve Michaels at Tricast they will help you enormously with anything Tricast.
IMHO Tricast are the best company out there with a British product that does exactly what it says it does AND MORE!!!

That no way to talk about Bob Nudd , show some respect !
id like one of the suits the geezer on the Hybrid cover is wearing though – could do a fishing version of the old Tommy Cooper sketch.
And, aren’t you all fed up with with all this crap about power kits, match kits, flick tips, special tips, thick tips, long tips …. browning have got it right. Just 2 kits (1 pulla and 1 normal) that do everything you want.

TF_wightangleri would be biased having a tri-cast- and as stated a
British made and registered company. However, my fishing mates have both the Z9 & Trilogy.
The mate who has the trilogy has just bought his to accompagny his existing tri-cast aristocrat which replaced his T.Pro, he’s much preferred the tri-cast as feels lighter and better balanced for his average sized and medium height physique.
That said, the Z9 pro-package comes with a ext. to 17.5 and another .5 m ext. but is a few hundred more-though you can pick up a pro-package for the price of the standard if you shop around.Reckon safe laccy rating a bit lower than the tri-cast in practice, imo.
I’d say the tri-cast is stronger for commercials and carp(my mates uses aristocrat his at Rolfs with orange bazookacarp!) but the tri-cast ext. to 17.5 is very expensive – so if you honestly use 17.5 on more than the odd occasion then that’s a factor otherwise have a very long look at the tri-cast.both awesome poles.

adam1Participanti ve used my Z9 with a doubled up 10-12 set that tight it only came out 2 foot before bottoming out on peg 45 on pollawyn at whiteacres fishing into the reeds. paul holland next to me was cringing at the way the pole bent every time i hooked a fish, obviously thats not what its designed for and i certainly wouldnt reccomend it but it never once felt in any trouble which goes to show how much it can actually take. im sure no one would want to use elastic much heavier than that……….. not even nathan! haha

TF_redarmynathan would use elastic that strong if he could borrow some lol

TF_paulDdoubled up 12 sounds a bit OTT for a top-end pole. ive broken margin poles with less. I had red hydro through my 9 last summer and had to shut my eyes a few times but nothing broke. Taken it out now as felt I was being cruel to it !
brownings made an amazing job on these poles. Ive got a couple of their rods now and theyre just as good. If i was Diawa Garbo and co i’d be worried.
