        Hi all

The Civil Service national is being held here in a couple of weeks. Anyone fished here recently, and any one know what’s catching? Unfortunately, will be fishing this totally blind, as never fished here before.

Is it the River Trent you are fishing ?

          If so, what sections ?

It is on the trent – bit vague about that wasn’t I.

It is on the section between Caythorpe and Hoveringham.

They’re down below Nottingham, nothing like Burton.

I drew Caythorpe in the National. Seemed alright. Plenty of roach and dace on the usual methods (stick and wag). Not too many big fish pegs but the locals will let you know where to have a chuck for them. I don’t know about hoveringham but the river seems quite similar all through that bit.

Cheers for the replies on this most confused thread – I’ve looked at my paperwork and cannot work out where I’ve read Burton on Trent, so I guess I was just being a numpty!!
