Not seen any Carpa Chimps with thicker metal stems. Cannot see why one of the best pole floats ever designed for commercial type carp venues would change the thickness of the metal stem. If you have come across any. Then, they are not Carpa Chimps. Even if those floats are made by Carpa. The balance would be different on those floats. So they cannot be true Carpa Chimps but something else. The chances are that they are just copies by a different company. The balance will be different due to the thickness of the stem. So, bad copies at best. So i would stay away from them unless that specific feature is what your after. Come across quite a few float companies doing copies of the Carpa float range. There is nothing wrong with it. However, if i want a float like a Carpa Chimp. Then, i dont want a cheap copy. I want a real Carpa Chimp!!!

Have a look at the Sensas CCX2 its very similar to the Chimp, the stem might be very slightly thicker than the Chimp, it doesn’t bend so easley.

You may be mistaking it for a Carpa Gent, similar body shape with a thiner tip and thicker wire stem.
