Thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s Glebe Festival – hope you all enjoyed it. Gave me a bit of my mojo back for match fishing I’ve not fished one since the previous festival. I know Pat from DHP felt the same. Just wish there was more time?

One of the stipulations re the money raised for charity is that the peg fee goes to Fish Legal. This is a condition of Roy donating the fishery for two days.

The other 50% of they money can go to any good cause or charity we choose (including Fish Legal). This year we raised £1810 in total.

Previously we have donated to causes such as Les Webber’s Angling Projects, The Rainbow Trust and the Jeff Moors Memorial Fund. Some years 100 per cent has gone to the ACA (now Fish Legal).

It’s up to the TF members who fished and want to express an opinion.

So far we have two suggestions:

        Rainbow Trust
        http://www.rainbowtrust.org.uk/
Dave Pearson (Pikey) is heavily involved in the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. Dave is the guy who said a few words about the Trust after the match. Revenue is down this year due to the economic climate.

        LOROS
        http://www.loros.com
Jarred (who won this year’s festival) would like us to consider LOROS (the Leicestershire and Rutland Organisation for the Relief of Suffering). This is a local charity providing care and support within Leicestershire and Rutland. It’s a cause dear to his heart as he lost his father to cancer recently.

Let’s take the next ten days to bat this one about – anyone else with suggestions or comments feel free to put them on here. We can then have a vote.

          Well done Geeps !!

After all the doom and gloom leading up to the match, everything seemed to go without a hitch.

Already looking forward to next year’s TF Festival 🙂 🙂

Another most enjoyable two days at the Glebe and it was good to meet what seemed like the whole of Oldham !

When considering where to donate the Charity Money, please take 1 minute of your valuable time to click on this link and watch the very short Rainbow Trust film which explains what we do and more importantly what it means to some of the families that we support.

            Thanks

If we only get two nominations, why not split the money 50/50, it is still a decent amount ?

Great couple of days, my vote would also be a split between the two charities mentioned

I have heard that anglers that draw uglies get this sudden urge to go swimming if this is the case we my need a life guard next year.

and my vote would be to spilt between the to named charities

I’m easy on where the cash goes although I have a soft spot for Macmillan Cancer. However, wherever it ends up I’m sure it will be gladly received in such hard times.

my vote goes for LOROS but i have got to say what a great couple of days with great people. I Also thought the 20 pound instead of the raffle worked brilliant every one donated the same and it was easier. cant wait for next year 🙂

With 60anglers having fished it’s a shame more haven’t commented on here.

If we split the money between LOROS and Rainbow Trust it will mean we are supporting one Charity local to the Gleb and one Charity covering a much wider area of the country, including the North where a number of the Glebe participants came from.

Whatever is decided, it needs to happen soon as I’m sure all small Charities are suffering in the current economic climate and could do with the money asap.

My vote goes to splitting it which is a decider so that’s what we will do.
The other half has already been sent to Fish Legal.
