With over 70 anglers decending on Marsh Farm the fishing was always going to be difficult for this match and so it proved with a few anglers dry netting and many struggling to weigh in just over a pound, however I think most enjoyed the event. For me it was nice to finish 4th from a hard area 4 to the left in my section really struggled packed up and went home early!with the chap to my immediate left weighing just a pound, the angler was from peterborough, what a journey for just a pound the lads a hero travelling that far imo It was nice to be in the main frame again just after our team won the river colne teams of four last week, however commiserations must go to Mick fordham who almost added a 3rd national tital falling short to Phil Mason who won the event. Great to see the ageing superstar Andy Love framing in the final, a good event enjoyed despite the hard fishing Thanks must go to mr Richardson and his team of volunteers for running the event.

        1st Phil Mason 19 lb +

        2nd Mick Fordham 18 lb +

        3rd Andy Love 13 lb +

        4th Fred Davis 12 lb 4oz

A special well done to Phil Mason (national individual civil service champ) and to all who participated, roll on next years event.

          Hi Fred,

          Just to finish the places…..

          5th Steve Bettis 11lbs 14ozs
          6th John Holt 11lbs.

It would have been nice to have won a 3rd CSSC individual National title, but it was not to be. The only fish I lost all day was a rouge double figure Carp (which I played for about 5mins with all my pole out, before the hook sprang and came out) I was on light(ish) gear so only had a small chance of getting it in anyway.

My Congratulations also go to Phil Mason for a good match win.

Anyone who weighed over 10lbs did very well on the day.

Lastly (but by no means least) thanks also to Paul Kitchen, Mr Richardson and all of the other helpers for running the match.
