        looking to set up a powerkit with about a metre of 16 latex , going to tie it to some dacron and a regular bung, what sort of strength dacron should i use , my local shop has got 6/8/10/12/15lb drennan dacron also do you just tie it to the elastic the way you attach shock leaders

          sounds ok..depends on what you’re trying to achieve..i have had dacron and half black hydro before,and how i use to attach it was loop to loop..but on the dacron loop put some silicone sleeving on just to give the hydro extra protection against cutting ..just a confidence thing 🙂

            got a match next week on a venue with a huge reed bed in the middle , loads of fish get lost on standard set ups fancy trying something different , will put some silicone over the dacron and tie loop to loop as suggested

              i’d use a solid elastic tightened right up or even powergum,if your fishing a long pole carefull or you’ll probably bust it.

                agreed the pole becomes the weakest link.. 😮

                  builder’s string from a builder’s merchants. unbreakable in this method. join it loop to loop. best bit is it cost £3 for a few hundred metres
