I think preston-mad is talking about the new TDM reels NOT the TDR line!! lol

I have never had any issues with the TDR line however!!

Im also very interested to hear feedback on the reels, they look good and fall into a “easier on the pocket” price range BUT are they any good????

Saw 3012 tdm and very plasticky, v poor relation next to a tdr, even accepting the price difference. Also anti reverse is on the bottom like the shimanos, not something I like.

had hands on on a tdm yesterday too. Didn’t mind the finish, a bit plasticy like the reactorlite….but thats no biggy. Seemed fairly smooth, and the HIP clip is a good feature.

having said that, would rather they had just brought out the TDR with the HIP clip and it would be the perfect feeder reel IMO.

Interested to find out about the line lay, etc. Certainly won;t be buying one until I know more about them

Purchased 4 TDM 3012’s and have used them the last three days on a mini festival.

Perfect line lay (both onto the spool and leaving the reel on the cast – no issues what so ever)…. line lay the same as all the other Daiwa models TDR’s & Airity etc etc.

The finish “a bit plasticy” looks i.m.o the same/or very similar finish, size and weight to the Airity 3012’s.

I was torn between buying a few more TDR’s second hand at around the £80.00 mark each, or buying the new TDM’s at a similar price….. at this early stage i am VERY impressed with the TDM and have found them to be every bit the high quality expected from Daiwa – im very happy with my purchase!!!
