        Hi I would like to know which poles are compatable with my pro. I need a new (used in good condition) number 8 section and need to know if I found a number 8 section from another pole would it affect the performance of mine ? cheers guys.

          Spectron Power fits and in my opinion is exactly the same section.
          In fact i have both poles and cannot see or feel the difference apart from the obvious graphics.

                Agree with the above plus G20 but would imagine putting cheaper carbon on from the G8 or G20 the pole will loose some balance and stiffness?

                        Would a repair be a possibility? Not sure how much it would affect that far down …. i only have them on long 4s (clumsy) and a little wrap on the 14.5 m joint where it split a little.

                          Cheers NoCarpPlease I will get my section repaired but I would also feel more confident with an unrepaired section when fishing 16m and then have a spare. The damaged area looks to be in the perfect position for a break when fishing long. And I am a bit of a tackle tart also sorry.

                            if the repair is anything like the ones that Scott (Esselle) has done on mine the pole will definitely NOT break there 😉
                            But I can’t vouch for the effect on the action on an 8.

                            And to be fair …. nobody would accuse me of being a tackle tart …. more of the ivan marks school … open seat box and pull out 4 reels all tangled together!
