The handle doesn’t fold so storage and transport is awkward.

The handle appears to be sized for a beachcasting reel, and feels really odd to use.

I have the old model and like it, despite this also not having a folding handle, but I couldn’t get on with the new one.

Can’t fault mine more power than a TDR and bigger spools.
Use them for feeder and splash waggler.
Never had a problem with the handles have mine set up in a ready rod case.
            IMO excellent reels.

Handles unscrew which i think actually makes the rods easier to transport. Also with the larger handle the reel has a feel of being more powerful ie extra cranking power. When i first looked at them i thought the handle was too big but having fished with them for a while i cant fault them, to such an extent i shall be using them in the world feeder champs in ghent.

Great reels,i have 2 of them and would never part with them.Give ians tackle a ring as they are selling the 3000x size for £99.99,not sure if they have the size you want, but worth a try.

The “Handles unscrew”. That to me is a problem. I’d end up losing bits. it’s my style 🙂

With my old style Caldias I half unscrew them and the handles come in just enough so that they go in the rod bag nicely. I can live with that and they’re lovely reels.

I just think that on good reels, a folding reel handle should come as standard.

I appreciate you seem to have your mind made up, but have a look at the TDM4012’s.

Same sized reel, FAR less ‘blingy’, lovely to use, an absolutely superb folding handle, and save a few quid.

                        I cant fault mine. 🙂
