Happy enough with mine now i’ve had a few beast’s. At 12mtrs as good as anything in the daiwa range, fine at 14 and usable at 16 but the power tops do affect it noticeably at that length especially when using hydro. If you use the match tops it’s a really good pole at any length for the money. The tackle dealers i spoke to said the XR5 was a bit stiffer and felt better than the g20 which is more of a commercial fishery pole apparently. The g20 has been around for a long time now and does have a pedigree. The puller kits on the g20 have come in for some stick . I would go to a decent shop and waggle both and if you go with the xr5 you won’t be disappointed and have £300 to waste on other stuff. Like preston innovations puller bungs, hydro, some decent cupping cups etc. There is a live test review on you tube of the xr5 if your interested.
