As most of us know the mag trade is suffering, and I expect the fishing mags are struggling just as much. With the birth of the internet, this has meant that magazines for many have simply been cut back or dropped completely…

Personally I cannot do without a mag or two in the bathroom for when nature calls, and it gets boring reading the same crap everytime (Pun intended), so I buy the odd magazine so it doesnt get boring … However this is basically the only time I read mags, probably like alot of people on here…

ANYWAYS, I was wondering if any of the fishing mag publishers are intending on bringing a digital version of the mags out in the near future?
Since some of you are working in the fishing mag trade, i thought you may be able to give some info…

There are already some excellent digital mags released (not in the fishing trade though) and are fully interactive with videos and much more… (Wired being an good example)

and for everyone else, would you read a magazine on a digital device such as your computer, or an Apple iPad or other form for tablet PC?

Hi Lee, I often look at the Talksport magazine,
          http://mag.talksport.net/1D4bfaa92a2042e012.cde

Not every week but often enough.

I have to admit that I don’t buy as may as I used to. There was a time when I got all the coarse fishing fishing papers and Sea Angler. with the occasional Game fishing one. Not any more. Now I glance through them and get one if it really appeals.

only buy the mags when there is anything in that is of interest to me these days got fed up of reading the same old same for me to many commercial carp articles and adverts if dave harrell made match fishing into a river mag and jon arthur made pole fishing into a canal mag i would subscribe to the both of them right now

                    Yeah i do!!

Nobody would read it because there weren’t enough commercial articles in there. People need to start moving with the times rivers and canals are not the future of our sport commercials ARE.

Magazines RIGHTLY struggle to come up with new ideas for articles when they cover all aspects of fishing. A specific magazine like Canal Fishing would really run out of steam very quickly IMO.

I prefer reading a paper magazine to reading online.

What is the trend with Angling Publications? Is circulation going down / up / much the same?

so why dont they scrap pole fishing and match fishing and combine the resources to make one fantastic mag that every angler would buy or subscribe too

Great video of bloodworm collecting. No scraping there. I wish I could speak French!

Going to recycle my old thread here…

is anyone using the digital versions of the mags on their iPad?

I have just noticed that MF, AVP, TC and all the others are on the App store…

Been there since march, so a few of you must have tried them by now?

just want to hear opinions 🙂

                                Hi Lee

Have you check out the new itackle digital magazine from Angling Times?

It’s completely free and the only digital magazine in angling:

                                  No I haven’t. Until now at least…
Its good for a first issue, however I can’t sit with my iPad and read that due to all the flash, and I can just imagine that running on a flash based tablet too, it would bring them all to a standstill….

The future is in apps, not flash… However I commend the AT for their efforts…
