did try it when Giles Cochrane first wrote about the method, but had little success with it.
Giles did once write that he had modified the method further but when i posted on here for more information it appeared that he had left this forum and no further details emerged from the members. so i just stopped using it….cormorant

im glad you put this post up i always make my rigs before hand and will make an effort to do some hook and loops
ive found if you can just get the bait touching bottom it seems natural the hook in the loop would work perfect for this
Giles has moved on to other things but hope he gets bored and starts fishing again

Quite a few good anglers came to the conclusion that the fishing at dead depth part made the rig effective and not the hinge part the hook in the loop offered.

Ginger its whatever works for the individual there will be anglers reading this who sack up using hook in the loop its all about confidence. I for One have to be very confident with a rig or method to use it take winter corn alot of anglers will tell you theres no better winter bait I personally cant catch on it Ive told myself its not going to work and it wont its a mindset.

I still do, infact used it today, had fab results on it
You do have to be dead depth
Some will love it, some will loath it, its all down to confidence, but once you get it right it works 🙂
