        Dave Armstrong Perch 2lb 5oz

A cold east wind greeted the 20 anglers that turned out at Dog Lane this week for the first of the Individual Silver Matches. It was a slow start for some but for Dave Armstrong it was all rocking from the starting whistle. Dave fished mostly pinkie and chopped worm putting together a fine net of ‘Billies’, Roach and skimmers for 12lb 4oz for
first place. He also caught two big perch which were only an ounce apart, the larger securing the bonus pool pot too.

Second place went to Simon Potter on peg 37 with 140 fish for 10lb 13½oz, he beat fellow team mate Rich Wills off the next peg by 5oz.

Third place and right on Simons coat tails was Rich wills with 10lb 8½oz who caught 50 fish less but clearly a better stamp. I’m guessing one fished off the deck whilst the other caught on it.

        Section wins were: John Godwin Peg 31 8lb 1oz, Pete Palmer Peg32 7lb 8oz. Keith Haynes Peg4 8lb 12½oz, Paul Knapman peg5 5lb 13oz.

Next Pairs Match will be December 5th and next Individual Match will be December 19th. Draw at the Kings Head Napton 9am.

I’ll let Josh know that you think he’s an ugly git, he has the same high opinion of you too!

Nearly everyone had a Billy and most were around 2lb within an ounce or two.

Last Saturday a 3lb+ perch was caught. There’s definitely at least one bigger than that. I won’t be surprised to see one at 4lb come out this winter.

When you can get the roach going on worm and caster the bigger ones are starting to show.

Maybe a few more people might get the idea about fishing there instead of struggling for 2lb on the cut.

The Lake being used is the ‘Original’ Dog Lane Pool now called ‘Willow’.
