Have searched the internet for info on these poles but there doesn’t seem to be too many anglers out there with them?

Does anyone on here have one and want to give their verdict on this allround/silverfish pole?

I’m sure Dave Pellet uses one, try dropping him a PM.

            Yes I’ve got one

I’ve just replied to your PM Dave, but you might also want to check out the info on Drennan’s website….

Hi, I have one of these poles and use it for everything other than hit and hold work. It’s light and responsive and I use elastics from number 2 right up to the pink and red bungeee that Drennan produce.

I have separate cupping kits for light and heavy elastics as I’ve cut the bungee tops back that bit further to fit a bungee bush.

A very good pole and you don’t see that many of them simply because I don’t think that Drennan market them as aggressively as other companies.

I love my Zircon, wouldn’t swap it for anything at all, but I seem to be the only person in Yorkshre (with the exception of Paul Yates) who has one

I was gonna say I can’t understand why there are so few around this area, but if I’m honest I know exactly why – many people round here expect a pole to be 20 rated at least (cos we’re reyt ‘ard y’know), and if it’s not they consider it weak & second rate

the fact I know someone who’s used a zircon to landed a 25lb carp seems to be irrelevant

even though I don’t fish for carp I’ve had many nuisance carp on mine while after the king of fish (tench), including fish into double figures & the pole has not creaked or complained once

Im very lucky to have both the Icon and the Zircon so i do most of my commercial work with the Icon and river and canal with the Zircon and as the top kits are interchangable ive got loads of them. I love both of them and nothing out there as made me want to change yet, but we will have to wait and see what there next pole will be like. But god knows when that is going to come out as it takes them ages to release one as it has to go through a lot of testing before they let us get our grubby little mits on them.

that is true, but they do have a lot of new products on the go all the time so they can’t do everything

plus, would we really want them to be like other tackle companies, with a new range every year?

Mark Litchenberg had 2 Zircons David and he rated them better than any other pole on the market.

Red card rescinded Squeaky Roller. I only ever had one and still have one. Used it today in fact at the Glebe. White Hydro through one section and had a few to about 9lb with zero issues. I also got seen off when, by bad angling, I picked my top kit up and the rig had gone round my kinder cup without me noticing. The pole went a funny shape before the 0.16 busted but it came back straight, haha. I’ve caught carp to 18lb on it and have never felt like it was going to pop. Heaviest elastic I’ve gone is 16 latex.
