Anyone used the yellow plastic electic hooktyers sold on e bay?

yes, used one for over a year, excellent use for size 12-20 and lines 0.1 to 0.2, followed a video on how to use it, bit of practice very quick, I go for 7 turns and ties first class knots and I have full confidence.

Only problem I can see Vs a Sensas Pierotti is that the hooklength is not guaranteed to be the same length every time?

I may be wrong but if you dont need to tie your loop on the hook length before you tie on the hook then you can easily make them to any precise length you like.

I could never get on with the hand held tyers like the blak match man type, to fiddly for my numb fingers.
Went through a period of using pre tied hooks but good as they are you cant beat using the hook of your choice tied to your preffered line.
So I have dug out a vintage hook tyer from the 70s called [the Andy Barker hooktier] bet not many people on here have seen or heard of it.
It comprises of a flat heavy plastic base with a pillar at one end that has a rotating clamp that the hook is secured in, very easy to use i tied down to 26s to 0.06 in my canal fishing days.
These days i rarely use below an 18 and sixteens fourteens and twelves see the most use, so there pretty easy with my old retro tyer.
I thought about buying a protie but as it uses the black matchman hooktier i decided it might not be for me as i struggled with the matchman tyer.
