    July 4th – 10th

143 anglers caught 513 fish of which 373 were returned

7lb 2oz Mike Brassett, Nether Heyford, boat
6lb 13oz John Wright, Spalding, olive shipmans
6lb 4oz Mike Brassett, Nether Heyford, boat

    Best Areas
Bank – coarse bank, east arm, boat bay
Boat – west arm, east arm, pylon point

    Best Patterns
olive/hares ear cdc, olive/brown shipmans, daddy, fraser nymph, olive cruncher, damsel nymph, dry damsel.

Elinor continues to fish much better than usual for mid July helped by cooler water temperatures.
Boat and bank anglers enjoyed good dry fly sport.
Mornings continue to be best with lots of fish on the top until slowing down around 2pm.
Damsels are the main food source. Fish are taking nymphs and adults. A few mayfly continue to hatch and on some days there have been good numbers of flying ants which the trout seem to love.
