    May 23rd – 29th

186 anglers caught 729 fish of which 594 were returned.

7lb 2oz Matt Tuck, Huntingdon, black/green lure, boat
6lb 11oz Brian Taylor, Birmingham, damsel
6lb 0oz Nigel Organ, Whitton, apps bloodworm, float tube

    5lb 2oz Alan Foster, Desborough

    Best Areas
Bank – east arm, gravel bar, boat bay
Boat – east arm, west arm, down middle

    Best Patterns
Grhe, damsel, red cruncher, black or olive shipmans, hoppers, orange blob, apps worms.

A rod average of just under 4 but anglers going afloat had the more consistent sport.
Mornings are fishing well, afternoons can be slow. However, Berry Kenny managed to go out on Friday at 1pm and be back at 4.30pm with 6 fish weighing over 16lb. He anchored off the pylon peninsula and used cove pheasant tail and orange cruncher.
The good evening rise is now starting after 9pm. It can be frustrating with numerous plucks and boils to the fly but great fun.
