Just finished reading yet another review of the new Elite Carp pole! Every review has said that the Elite Carp compares to the 88! Now with a price tag of only £799 and a £159 16m extension, you’re supposedly getting a 16m pole described as being as good as a £2550 (cheapest online price) pole.
I am trying to save up to buy an 88, but then I read these reviews and wonder if maver is just saying its as good, and if it is why would I save up to buy a pole 3 times the price!?
Has anyone used/tried both of these poles? Can I have your thoughts and suggestions?
I just hope by the time I have saved up the money maver don’t come out with a new flagship lol!

a 14.5mt pole with an extension will never feel as good as a complete 16mt pole.and the price you pay is what the pole is valued at,not the RRP.so if the pole retails for £2.000,but you buy one for £1.500,that is what you are comparing it to.otherwise you are comparing a £2.000 with an £800 one,in terms of performance etc.

The elite carp was not bought out to compete with the 88 it’s a completely different tool! Having said that it is one of the strongest stiffest carp pole I’ve held and was well impressed with the prototype I tried. Not tried at 16m would say it’s fishable. For strength and stiffness it’s awsome! The 88 is fishable in excess of 19m is strong enough for most things and is well stiff. So it really depends on ur type of fishing, I’d say most people who buy an 88 will end up buying an elite carp to complement not compete with the 88.

Ok, thanks for the replies! I will hold on till I have enough for an 88!
