Feeder Rod tips – push in or over???

Hi Chaps,

Probably a daft question but… :confused:

Tapping in on your wealth of knowledge, what is the difference between push in and push over tips and when/why would you choose one over the other, especially on a rod which comes with two carrier sections and both sets of tips?

I guess you have seen a Tricast for sale. The push in tips and carrier section you use for these is much more beefier than the push over tips and carrier. Tricast rods are good, but imo there are better rods. With tricast the glass tips are too soft and the carbon tips are not the correct action. On both the guide diameter is too small for shockleaders etc.
