I dont fish canals and its only a One off so bit of advice any advice would be welcomed I want to keep it simple and im not going to start stripping topkits down and changing elastics etc just for One day my regular setup will have to do, so whats the best way of going about this ?I spoke to my mate who used to fish these venues and hes said exactly what i was thinking and just to fish worm and caster. What kind of depths can i expect Ive heard its top 4s and sorry I dont know which part of the canal we are fishing !!! Also will I get away with 4x 14/16 chimps or does it tow ? Any feedback would be appreciated.

yeah its top 4’s. you need gb, squats pinkies casters etc and a worm line is a good idea. some big fish so worm might be ok, bream, chub in some areas, think there’s a few eels too.

Bloodworm and Joker will be dominant in October with 15lb of roach being a minimum target weight. To save on bait costs fish one line at the bottom of the near shelf, whick will be 5 or 6 sections of pole. Introduce 6 balls of groundbait via pole cup full of joker. Rigs to use are 0.6-1g floats, 0.1 main line to 0.8 hooklengh with a 20 hook. My other line would be worm and caster as long as you can fish, this line is for skimmers and bream. Especially in the 160’s

Top three & half in most places. Look for slopes either side of track and fish around them.

Feed worm & caster plus some fishmeal groundbait wont go a miss, occasionally flicking odd caster long.

Rig wise 1gm bulked on 8/10 elastic. 4×14/16’s strung out with 5 lacky.

Alternatively, as Barnsley says:- go down blood worm route n keep flicking casters long

Good luck & let us know how yer get on.
