TF_piperpilotLooking at one to replace my late lamented Rive D25. Reviews and views of the MSB would help me decide. One question does the base unit remove from the frame as I would more then likely never use it for storage,
Cheers

TF_chaveyParticipantYes it does, and it will also clip under the frame to make it into a mid framed box like the matchboxes

AnonymousI,ve had the Fox MSB Euro 1 with the sliding foot plate for 2 years. Best box i,ve ever owned. Light, hard waring and looks good. Very well ballanced for carrying and the strap is very comfortable. Enough space for lots of bits and bobs in the 1 deep and 1 shallow tray. 1 other tray for float winders. Self locking trays. Once you get use to them. They are very easy to use. The sliding foot plate is very solid and slides under the box with ease. I was not sure about the folding foot plate when i looked at it. I guess that foot plate would not be as strong as the sliding foot plate. The base cannot be removed. However, there is plenty of room to add another tray if needed. Extra trays cost between £50 and £60, 2 years ago when i got my box. The legs are strong and sturdy even when extended quite long. Very easy to get the box level. The spirate levels really do help with this. I have to be honest and say that i never thought that i would use them but i do. Only thing i dont like about the box is the pole cup in the seat. I keep contemplating cutting the rubber cup off and adding some padding to create the type of v in the seat for when fishing very long that i would personally like. Overall, the best box for its price by a mile.

AnonymousAre you sure, Chavey? Just had a check on mine and the bottom of the base is where the box is fitted to the legs. The 3 sections sit on top of the base and all clip together.
Does the base box unclip leaving just a thin section that holds the rest of the box and legs together? I need to check it out more in the morning as i,ve never tryed to remove the base box. Just thought it was there for good .

TF_Simon PThe base unit “IS FULLY REMOVABLE” i have taken mine off and have a couple of extra winder drawers fitted under the frame.
Best box ive had by far (and ive had more than my fair share!! lol)
Drawers fully waterproof, units waterproof, well made, very versatile…..If there is a downside to the box now i have the configuration that i want, its a little heavy but the quality build adds to the weight so less is more…… still lighter and smaller than most other boxes!!

TF_craigmI was looking for a new seatbox just over 12mths ago after having several different boxes over the years. I spoke to Simon P who advised me to have a look at the MSB1 Euro due to its modular configuration. I have to say its the best bit of advise I’ve had, the box has been excellent and now i have removed the base and fitted a 2″ tray under the frame, the deep tackle drawer, 2 winder drawers and the shallow tackle above the seatbox is just right for me. The seatbox itself is very comfy, sturdy and well made and in my opinion the best I’ve ever had.

TF_Col_WI have had the MSB1 Sq leg version since they first came out a few yrs back and can’t fault it.
Personally I prefer a folding footplate and it is very stable and has never colapsed on me and I frequenly use the box with the telescopic legs fully extended to sit in the water.
I ditched the deep base and use a 60mm tray with 3 shallow and 1 deep draw on top which easily takes all my gear.
You will not be dissapointed with the MSB. -

TF_fourcanalsI have got the folding footplate and have attached a cheap trolly frame to the base enabling me to screw two wheels on the side pop on the handle and a cracking trolly stable as you like cost 15 quid off ebay all that is seen is the frame under the box .one note muppet here has bust the front footplate support by ragging the footplate down rather than lifting and lowering slowly ,

TF_piperpilotThanks for the info lads. I now have a Euro 1 on order and hopefully should get it sometime this week. Still have my D36 ST but the Fox will be perfect for those ‘Lightweight!!!’ pleasure fishing sessions. I hope Fox aftersales have improved since I last used it about five years ago,
