  A huge thanks to Nigel Harry, Dave Harrell, Joe Carrass and Darren Cox for a very well organised and well run final.
  
  The fishing overall was hard, but a huge well done to Andy Benwell for winning the final with 80lb.
  
  I hope the event is running again next year!

  it was a cracking final and very well organised. the venue is great because nobody is on a flier cause there are fish to be caught everywhere.
  Also great that garbolino sponser the event and gave some great prizes out and darren cox walking round giving advice to all anglers. what a great bloke.

  Yep, what a great event, well worth the 400 mile round trip to fish this one for me. Big congrats to the winner and thanks to the DHP boys, Garbolino and Nigel – long may it continue, keep up the good work guys.

  I was on P.102 and realy did have a cracking time in more ways than one!
  
  Had a really slow start for first 2hrs on the tip, 2 F1s, went on pole for a further 2 F1s in the next hr and finally started to get the odd decent skimmer in the next half hr, then disaster struck. I was rutting around in my holdall for a top kit with lighter elastic as I had bumped a skimmer when some bloke, unbeknown to me, attempted to climb over my pole. First I new about it was when I heard a bang and he snaped my pole at the no.6 – match over with approx 1 1/2hrs to go and I was just starting to put a few fish together!!!!!
  I couldn’t believe it as I had been so careful at the start of the match to make sure my pole was broken down out of harms way but in the rush and excitement of putting a few fish together left my pole across the path whilst rutting about im my holdall for all of 10 seconds and bang!
  Luckily I managed to borrow a no.6 off NIck W (Life saver Mate)on P112 and went on to put around another 8 fish in the net and weighed 27lb to win my section – well chuffed what an expensive couple of days fishing though.

  Glad you enjoyed it lads.
  Shame it didn’t fish as well as it has been, i spoke to a couple who had 100lb of bream in practice!
  They spawned only 4 days before and it slowed sport down, we have spoken about trying to move the match back a few weeks next year, but with Darren fishing the Euros each year, he wants to be at this match too.
  DHP have deadlines to work to as-well, so they need to get it in the can.
  
  What a shame you had your pole broken Col, i hate the path, but it is a public right of way and nothing i can do about it, but i do always ask anglers not too leave there pole over the path while setting up or using a feeder rod.
