TF_JohnHI know there is a lot of bad weather around just now but South Yorkshire this morning is very bad.
I cannot see much in the way of fishing happening for a while as the forecast is just for more of the same.
North and East of us is worse but I have lived here all my life and cannot recall anything as bad as this. On average we have a foot of snow already and its still snowing, roads are hard to locate as they are just a white blanket of snow. Not many have ventured out so nothing is clearing.
Worst of all is its also freezing ice under the snow. -

TF_stevie bMy boss lives in Sheffield and he says he has 14″ of snow around his car. When he parked up yesterday he said the road had been cleared!
Snowing hard in Wakefield. However I got from Huddersfield to here in around an hour this morning which is the norm. Not looking forward to going home though. Roads will be pretty bad with muppets who struggle to drive in snow.

TF_leemurphNow snowing bad in preston. Just heard off my captain that this saturdays match on cudmore is ON i cannot believe it. I mean i’m all up for fishing but just getting there will be a nightmare and dangerous. Just trying to get on2 the site is very dangerous, i hope they see sense and cancel, cos it’s not worth ending up in a ditch and wrecking you’re car.

AnonymousWe have had almost no snow in Liverpool but its cold. Bit of snow on the side roads and pavements but all the main roads are totally clear of snow. Not even sure they have had to put rock salt on the main roads so fare this winter. Traffic seems to be clearing any snow very quickly in the mornings. I normally see the salt being spread on the roads but not this year so fare. Guess we are very lucky to not have a foot or more of snow like many others around the country.

TF_MARKHLDASHere at Jnctn 6 of the M25 I’ve had 11″ and my road is blocked, so I walk the 4 miles to work. Could get the bus but they are rammed.
Feel sorry for those guys in Yorkshire, I had to join a disaster call today to decide what to do with staff in that region. In sounded pretty bad.

TF_caster robParticipantMakes me laugh when the AGW fanatics claim it’s nothing to do with climate-change, just weather.
Three cool summers (suits me fine, long may they continue) and three cold winters in a row.
Panic – rebrand Global-Warming as all-encompassing Climate-Change, much easier to bluff, and tax.
Even the NH weather mocks them, whenever they hold a gathering to try and frighten us, Copenhagen, Cancun, we’re deluged with snow.
Win win.

TF_JohnHLocal media is reporting worst snow in Sheffield since 1919. The lucky ones on low ground have about a foot. On high ground its double that at least. Some main roads now not too bad but side roads impossible.
Little prospect of any improvement looking at forecast. Still snowing now but only in short bursts thankfully.
Tonight is forecast to be very cold, minus 6 to 10. Thankfully I have use of a 4×4, without it I would be house bound or on foot.
Fishing looks like being off limits for a while. -
