        Hi all.
I’m looking to buy some handmade floats from one of the Scone/Gilbert etc types.
However, each time that I find a float that I like, I find it has a dreaded spring eye.
Yes, I’ve heard all of the arguments for and against and have even seen the new version, but I don’t want a spring eye sat on my bristle.
Who out there makes good handmade pole floats without the obligatory spring eye?
        Thanks much , in advance.

See pattern you like. Email float maker. He makes them with side eye. Simples 🙂

All my handmade floats apart from the Edger are made with glued in side eyes as a option.

I allways use a bit of silicon rubber on the bristle of my float, so personaly i prefer a side eye.Any float maker should supply his customers with the sort of eye they prefer;and would be entitled to ajust the price acordingly. In the case of people who buy them in of course they coulden’t do this, unles they where floats made to their specs.

Just ask the floatmaker whose pattern you like to do them with no eyes on. This should not be a problem as long as the floats are home made and not bought in as finished floats for re sale.
