TF_simon paveyfished a small match today with Ealing AC. on the Grand Union canal at Croxley (sw herts) Our preferred pound was frozen over so we fished the one below.
All happened in the last hour, next peg started catching bleak shallow on the waggler and won with 10oz. I managed 2 roach 1 perch and a chublet for 4oz and came 3rd……

TF_DishyfishWent to Willy! Decided not to fish so watched the nutters try hard to break the ice on New lake and John’s lake. They managed it in the end. Wicket keeper was on the point and his swim was solid. Not just ice FISH too. I heard he won it with 38ib 2nd Mr Radford opposite with 9ib or so and then our very own Pikey with 5ib. Johns lake not sure, but there was the odd eye’s with fins being caught and the odd skimmer..
Why is it when you decide not to fish, you spend half the day there anyway watching them. Mind you when you have Milomadness walking around with you winding everyone up. It make’s it enjoyable lol.. Well done to all you brave (nutters) souls. Gaz told me he could of won from any peg!! If he fished lol..

AnonymousFished the 4th round of our teams of 4 on Spey at Partridge. Only had between 1 and 2 inchs of ice on it but it had clearly been smashed up the day before with a JCB. So, i was not shocked when it fished rock hard. Half the field blanked! Only 6 anglers had more than 1oz. Pellethead did great to win the match with 3 carp and an F1 for 13lb+. padefc had a 5lb carp and a gunk for 2nd in the match. thedog had 1 carp for 1lb 6oz and 4th in the match. All winning there section and all members of my team. I fished a blinder for 1 tiny gonk that never registered on the scales. Section win as i was the only angler to catch, lol. Maximum points. Well done lads. Get in there!

TF_StewartFished our individual winter league at White Acres. Drew peg 17 on Jennies and had 17lb+ of roach. Simon Poynter won the the lake with 20lb the match was won on Pollywyn with 34lb of skimmers by Nigel ‘Tourettes’ Taylor. Generally fished well with the exception of Trelawney which was won by Steve Maynard with just over 3lb!! The ice was melting and made things harder than normal on Jennies and Trelawney. But at least we went out to play!

ajbParticipantFished the same match as jwb above. Considering the weather over the last 2/3 weeks it fished amazingly well. I ended up with 7-15-0, 5th over all, almost all roach on punch at 5 and 10m. Nice days fishing on an excellent venue

TF_The RunnerFished match on Slough Arm yesterday- ice wasnt too bad and easily clearable with a pole cup and long net handle,. but…
I tried to claim a moral victory as being the only one to have a bite (two in fact- one first put in on punch and another 90 mins from the end on single joker at half depth- didn’t connect with either)
Cant remember the last match I fished when nobody caught.
