TF_The Ginger magicianTipped back a net of fish that would have got ou in the coin
Just ben going through some of my match results form the late 80s
i was fishing a canal match i had about 1lb in the net with an hour to go it had been really hard i knew that the lad two pegs to my left had 2 chub of around a 1lb each and a few bits and the lad on the flyer was admitting to around 4lb my mate came down and said that the angler on the end peg was bagging and he had seen him have 4 chub and a couple of skimmers as we only paid out the top 3 and i had a family do to go to that night i decided to pack up and have an early bath
Next day at work one of my mates told me that the match was won with 5lb off the flyer and 2lb 6oz was 2nd with 12oz 3rd suprised as i had chucked back over a pound i asked about the angler on the end peg Oh he wasnt in our match he was a pleasure angler who set up at the end of our pegs Oh i said What did you catch he asked Oh about 4oz i lied darnt tell him what i really had had or they would have ribbed me forever

TF_GaryOnce tipped back at White Acres in a residents match. I had caught one carp (first chuck!) off peg 34/35 on Polly. Harry Billing battered me off the next peg, so I tipped back. Later found out that 12oz won my section by default as Harry Billing had won the match!
I have never tipped back since…

TF_MICK THE BOOKIEFunny story about weighing in or not weighing in.
About 4 years ago i was fishing a match at Willinghurst in really hot weather and there were wasps everywhere. Now for those that dont know me,i am allergic to wasp stings and i always have to carry an Epipen around with me for emergencies.
This particular day i was fully wrapped up in my gear, and the only parts of my anatomy exposed were my eyes(balaclava),nose and hands.I was catching well and i estimated i had over a 100lb in the nets. With about an hour to go i was shipping back another good fish when i felt the dreaded prick(hehe no comment) of my enemy on my right hand.A quick look down revealed the stripey bleeder stuck to my hand, and whilst breaking down to land the fish i yelled across the lake to my “so-called mates”,that i had indeed been stung. Now all my buddies know of my allergy as i had told them of the two earlier times i had been rushed to hospital and nearly died.To my right was my good pal Brian Green and he quickly rushed to my aid to help me.I put the fish in the net stripped off my trousers(two layers)grabbed the Epipen out of my bag and told Brian to do me in the thigh as quickly as possible as i would be soon passing out(about 2 mins and then keel over time).
I came round on the bank and the ambulance crew(who were called)were over me and making sure that all was fine…They gave me another shot and i begun to recover. After what seemed an eternity i started thinking of just how i had done in the match and what weight i had.You bloody guessed it…. the buggers threw my fish back in and politely told me i had left my peg so i was disqualified….B******.
Anyway the best part of the story was later as Brian told me that after he jabbed me he had pricked himself with the needle and he showed me the mark on his hand. You should have seen his face when i told him to get himself down the hospital cause i had Full blown Aids….It was hilarious and will still talk of it to this day…Especially when the “Yellow and Black bleeders” are about…HAVE A NICE DAY NOW.
