TF_AnthonywatersParticipantIm told the high bank is the deepest area on Pollywyn should I be fortunate enough to draw there how deep is it how long should my rigs be ? Also how deep is Bolingey just as a guide to make some rigs up ?

Anonymousrigs made up for a power top two should be ok for bolingey.never been lucky enough to draw the high bank but i could tell you the depth of every peg down the arms ant lol.

Anonymous6-7 feet should suffice for bolingey but honestly never been lucky enough to draw on the high bank.i am told they are the deepest pegs on the complex so i would make my rigs up to a top four.always better to cut the rig back than add line and risk a weak spot where the knot is.i,m sure some of the lads on here can be more precise with depths etc.cheers andy.

TF_Malc Prback arm on Bolingey, pegs 9 to 21 same depth as high bank,10/11ft

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantThanks Malc top fours then. Are you on the Baittech ?

TF_NW Cut Angler10 / 11 ft IIRC the High Bank. Plenty of ‘skimmers’ there too. 27 is the peg everybody talks about / wants etc but sometime and I am not expert IMO 15-17 which is the first gap / open area IIRC can out fish it and I have fished in the past when the pegs opposite 25-27 off the point can outfish the High Bank with the fish moving through to that area. The High Bank inevitably takes a lot of ‘hammer’

TF_NW Cut AnglerDo not rule out fishing off the bottom by a foot or 2ft on the High Bank and of course genuine shallow.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantNw Cut Angler thanks for info, does meat feeder still play a part on Twin oaks etc ?
-
03/01/2011 at 7:05 pm #127240
TF_NW Cut AnglerNot a clue on twin oaks sorry.
I noticed the 5M line has become more prevalent in recent festivals on Pollawyn. I never got the margins to work when down there personally but I daresay others can / will.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantFirst festival of the year 26th March the margins will be iffy the 5m meat line might work especially if its 6 ft plus deep but im going to take plenty worm and caster I walked round the baittech the year before last and there were a lot of anglers that struggled

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantMalc did they catch on meat feeder last March and also when those big waggler weights came off Twin oaks 16 / 17 on the meat was that hair rigged meat ?

AnonymousThis might help with depths in the deepest areas. http://www.news-reel.com/_pages/_ourlakes_pollawyn.asp
The method feeder has dominated Twin Oaks in most matches. However, the meat feeder, pellet waggler and bomb and pellet or popped up bread have all had there day. Also, on some days the carp will come on the inside at 5 meters and in the margins. Other days there are no fish to be caught on the pole.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantThe Baittech is no method no pellet or is it just no pellet ? can you use method feeder ?
-
03/01/2011 at 7:35 pm #127255
Col DumphyParticipantbollingey pegs 9-21 was bout 9-10ft deep if i remember right, pegs 27-44/45 was bout 6-7ft and im notsure bout the other arm “never drew it”, ive never drew the high bank on pollywyn but i know its a good depth, do your rigs at top 4 an shud be ok, the bait tech is a no pellet festival and you cant use the method either

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantThanks Col

AnonymousI think your correct about it being a no method feeder festival. Just read last years results and nothing caught on the method on any lake. So, that tells its own story.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantI wonder if you allowed to use those scoop type feeders ? I know its always been a pellet free festival but i wasnt sure on method feeders / scoop type feeders. What about waggler fishing meat are they hair rigging it ?

-
05/01/2011 at 5:12 pm #127491
TF_AnthonywatersParticipantIts only really stuff about depths to be honest Smed stuff you probably already know, I dont want to be making rigs up on 7ft of line if its 12 ft deep. If anyone has anything to say about Trewaters i would appreciate a bit of info. Cheers Anthony

-
06/01/2011 at 2:47 pm #127602
