TF_Johnny Big BallsAny of you lovely chaps got any info on this place you’d be willing to share?…. Got a match on there this weekend. Would love to have gone and done some practicing this week, but until I can find an easier way to make some money rather than working….
Cheers in advance.

TF_Smedvery peg dependant m8, are you fishing open? or a clubbie?
i say this as they tend to put 2 clubbies on the lake at the same time and one half is different than the other! -

TF_Johnny Big BallsIt’s just a club match and I think we’ve got 30 pegs. I’m assuming that will be pegs 1-30

TF_footplateWe had pegs 1 to 25 the other week after that heavy rain on the Friday. Pegs 8 +9 were 1st+2nd on method feeder for 40lb + they had an island to chuck to, I was third off peg 25 with 22lb off mainly IDE on worm and caster I wasted an hour and half in margins for nothing ,not many were caught in margins that day not sure why.hope this helps .

TF_Smedif you have 30 pegs you will probs have the full lake???
the way most people approach it is start on long pole with worm/castor or maggot and fish for ide (they usually come up in the water)
this usually will only last an hour or 2 max but if your on em you can build a steady weight…
after an hour start to feed your 2+2 line to target skimmers, again if your on em you can get a good weight cos some of em are 2lb plus (you know they are there cos they fizz)
i use caster over slop for skimmers but a few use paste/pellet
last hour target the margins for carp/barbel, fish as far as you can away from your platform (usually at the foot of the next platform if its empty)footplate is right in that some pegs have a bomb/method chuck (its the pegs with numbers on island) these can be good when the carp are moody and backing off the feed
some pegs (1,2,3?) have clear margin areas (lilly pads)
just fish strong tackle in em cos thats where the carp liveive only been around 7/8 times but this is what ive learnt ….so far… lol
you will hear people say mussel is good but ive never tried it, i just stick to what i know 🙂 -

TF_Smedoh and the island pegs (33/34) are the fliers (so they say!)
its a nice fishery though, well looked after, clean tidy and the fishery manager is sound and will put you right if you ask him! -

TF_Smedfootplate ive fished many matches where ive done well for the first 3/4 hours only to switch to margins and catch nothing whilst everyone around me is bagging down the edge
very frustrating!
but the rain must of put them off that day as 40lb is a poor weight on there…..oh and they have a facebook page where they post all the match results, so you can do a bit of homework 😉

TF_Johnny Big BallsThanks lads, really helpful info. Yeah I initially heard that there were two matches on there but when I heard that we had 30 pegs, that must only leave about ten pegs or so? I’m guessing that how I fish is going to depend very much on where I draw then? Think I’m gonna fish light early doors, try to catch anything that swims and keep a look out for what everyone else is doing. Thanks for the info again,

TF_Johnny Big BallsCheers for the tips lads. We did have the full lake – there was 31 of us on the match. I drew peg 5. Won my section and finished 6th overall with 47lb 8oz. Had 2 small carp and the rest were ide. Cracking net of 75lb of mostly ide won it off peg 15, then 72lb off peg 9, 60lb off peg 33 and 56lb off peg 40 were the other weights in the frame.
Cracking venue, very helpful owners, stuffed with fish. Would well recommend.
