        Does anyone know a good light pattern in spade for fising very small expanders, i,e 3mm, I usually use a size 20 911’s, but want something thats thinner and stays sharp!!! not to bothered about it being super strong! mainly for f1’s on the deck. cheers

                  Well, my local shop dont sell middy hooks!!!!, had a look round and found the fox series 2 carp match fine wire!, which looks perfect.. Huge sizes, so have gone for a 22, which is inbetween a 911 18-20,
                  ps, why are brand sizes so hugely different??? is there no regulation? or do they just make it up?????

                      the 808 is exactly the same pattern as the 911 just a finer gaugue wire. sizes are a bit diff, a 18 808 is the same as a 20 911. imo the best two hooks about!

                        drennan silverfish match for all my commercial winter work fishing(pellet or maggot)fine but forged so strong as well

                          will order the middy, and have a look at the drennans at my local!! not a big fan of the tubertini’s, did use them for a while few years ago but kept going blunt!! maybee a bad batch?? not sure but made me lose faith.
                          One thing for sure is the fox fine wire are to good to be true, look awesome and very sharp n light, but a backbone like a tinned pilchard!
