TF_mannymaggotHi Guys after having a succesfull summer on the doughnut on Horns Dam, it now seems to be slowing down as most waters do as the weather gets colder and the days shorter.Has anyone got any tips on how to keep the bites coming on this venue, as i havnt fished it through winter before.~think ~think

as a rule just scale everythin down like smaller feeders, lighter lines, longer hooklentghs, change to a darker mix wit less feed content maybe if its silvers ur after but u might just have to accept that its gonna be harder an lower weights are on the cards m8. try chuckin a bomb over ur feeder line if ur gettin odd bites but ur swim seems to get no better as not to overfeed them. iv never fished there but i know a few who have ill see what i can find out for ya

TF_respectIf its silvers your after i have caught 20lb + nets of roach last year, feeding regular with pinkies and maggots on a top 3 kit.
If its the carp you want to target then the best pegs are on the left side of the island near the aerator, fish a piece of corn half depth if you can reach with the pole or use a small pellet waggler if you cant, just feed 1 or 2 6mm pellets over the top, they shoal up near the aerator in winter so some days you dont have to feed anything,as for down the edge the carp will come later in the day, just feed 2 pieces of corn every 5 mins or so and give it a go every hour or so.Pete

TF_mannymaggotThanks again Pete.
I was talking to Howard Mcgill on saturday on the dam and he seems to think he introduced us when you fished a match for St anthonys on the Dam.Whats it like for getting a membership at St anthonys as the clubs im with in Blackpool are all going downhill and i see your matches are well supported.Any idea if there is a waiting list and how much membership is? Cheers Ian -
