        Hi all.

Could anyone pass on the best way to cook hemp in the microwave? I ahve been told that it cuts down the smell and is obviously quicker than boiling it on the stove.

        Thanks and tight lines.

If you want to eliminate smell, cook the hemp using the flask/overnight method. Simply open flask outside etc. Probably cheaper than boiling or microwave too.

Personally I don’t mind the smell and the family haven’t moaned!

Put even volumes of hemp and boiling water in a bole /bucket whatever microwave on full power for 5 minutes cover or leave in micro fro 3/4 hours microwave on full power for 10 minutes
This works fro me for quantities from 1/2 pints too 3 pints

i tried the flask method but in a food flask as it seemed bigger, replaced the water twice during the day but the hemp still didn’t split. Are there differnt types of hemp?

Remember to soak the hemp over night whatever the method – reduces cooking time. Might be why your hemp hasn’t “cooked”? If not then not sure why not.

Yes I had a batch that seemed to need more cooking the average don’t know why either !

I think that the older the hemp is the longer it takes to split.

I did some last week for the first time using the flask method.

All i did was put some hemp in a flask and cover with boiling water and left it over night.

In the morning the hemp was good to use.

I do mine in a rice cooker……… but it still takes over an hour to split.

I cook mine on the cooker but the extractor fan is used and there is no smell.
