Found today a old silstar pole,it is about 11mtrs long and the top kit is eyed with a wire tying eye at the bottom .
It looks to be made of a fibreglass composite any idea how old it will be .
It cannot be elasticated and is in good condition (ish).~think

        It is light blue coloured

Sounds like it had external elastic, is the top kit flexible?

yes the top kit is flexible ,but eyed .
Are you telling me that the elastic went through the eyes, has at the moment someone has put line from the bottom of the top kit through all the eyes then directly on to a rig.
Is this not the right way ,should it be elastic

The idea was that the tip played small fish, and the elastic was there for the larger lads.
The thought behind it was that you did not have to cut back the top for internal, a lot of people years ago did not like the style of internal elastic ~think

We all had flick tip tops in the old days, it might just be set up for that.

prior to that we had the crook Ron, both the elasticated one and the one with the elastic just hanging from the metal pole crook, before then we had the bamboo cheap poles with tip ring and then of course the sowerbutts with whalebone tip, I remeber the late Harry Rutter of hackney brothers using one of these on the thames, state of the art at the time, now that is going back some way lol

Sounds to me like you need some new stock in that shop of yours.
