I bought a brand new Maver Powerlite feeder system about 5-6mths ago. It has only been out of the bag to look at it until an hour ago. I am fishing a resevoir on sunday so decided to replace the line on my reels and thread the rods up ready for the day. I set the rod up at 12′ and threaded the line through the eyes with the clutch on my reel loosened right off, when I got to the end of the rod I pulled the line out and down to to the butt section. I tightened up the clutch and pulled the lined to put a slight curve in the rod when smash – the end 1″ of the carrier section snapped off and the section split about 3″ down the middle of it. Now for a rod that is supposed to be able to chuck a fully loaded feeder into the distance there must have been a fault with it.
Everytime I buy a Maver product I have breakages, when I opened my 481 a No4 section fell in half, while threading a double no8 elastic through a deluxe power kit it snapped in half, the first time I used one of the match kits and lifted into a fish it split. I had a Maver N47 that used to break depending what the weather was like and the Maver waterproof jacket I used to have was like a sponge.
Is it just me or has anyone else had the same problems ??
I am going to contact Maver to see if they would be willing to replace the faulty carrier section, If they don’t that will be the last penny of my hard earned cash they ever get.
