I’d be interested to know more about Jon Arthur’s decision to jump ship from Shakespeare Superteam to Maver Midlands – he’s been such a key factor in the success of Shakespeare over such a long period…

              money?? dont be daft!!!
He’s got more integrity than that!
Too sugest that you obviously dont know him very well!!

I’d guess because the natural venue leagues and cicuits shakey fish are dwindling and the comercial leagues are growing and thats the way forward for a lot of people, then the fact he wants to concentrate more on comercials adds to it!

Maver Midlands are the best comercial team in the midlands and one of the best in the country, Jon knows this and i’d guess thats why he’s joined them!

Jon Arthur commented: “It was a very tough decision to leave my old Shakespeare Superteam outfit but my own fishing, and team fishing in general, is changing and it just felt like the right time to move on.

It’s commercial then, Maver are becoming more focussed on big money matches and they want someone who has a proven winning track record to keep them in the spotlight. I would have thought Jon being a Garbolino fan by the pole reviews he gives might have gone all french..but good ole boy has kept it with an English company.

If you tell me that Jon ain’t in it for the money then you must be naive, he wouldn’t enter the big money matches if that didn’t float his boat as well as the Kudos of winning. If he’s so philanthropic ask him to donate his winnings for the year to one of the deserving charities. 🙂

I meant he hasnt been paid or owt too join! (He’s group editor of 2 magazines so i’m sure he cant be sponsored by a tackle company) its a maver backed team, doesnt mean jon is getting paid? i’m certain he asked to join them from the grapevine!

I’m with you Wizard, Jon’s got integrity in spades….. Look at the Winter League no longer a final on a natural venue but Partridge due to sponsorship…. Maver Midlands will have a big say in the outcome of that, Shakey won’t…..

                    Sh!te really…..

                    🙁

Maybe it is Jon,s desire to fish the North Wales Winter League ? 😮 😀

Wow Maver Midlands have just become the ugliest team in the land ! pmsl
